Each month, our coffee subscription is a way to share what we find most compelling in coffee at that moment—not simply coffees we enjoy, but coffees that express origin, processing, and roasting in distinct ways.
For March 2026, we selected two coffees that offer a beautiful contrast in both origin and cup profile: Kenya Rugi AB and Honduras Alexander Dominguez.
If you would like to experience this month’s selection yourself, you can explore the subscription here.

This Month’s Coffees
Kenya Rugi AB
Origin: Mukurweini, Nyeri
Altitude: 1,700–1,800m
Process: Fully Washed
Varieties: SL28, SL34, Ruiru 11, Batian
Sourced from over 700 smallholder farmers and processed at Mutitu Coffee Washing Station, this coffee reflects the clarity and structure Kenya is known for.
After selective handpicking, the cherries are carefully sorted, fermented for 12–18 hours, fully washed, and slowly dried on raised beds. This process preserves the coffee’s brightness and complexity, resulting in a cup that is both juicy and refined.
Tasting notes: Floral aromatics, rhubarb and grapefruit-like acidity, blackberry sweetness, and a clean black tea-like finish.
Honduras Alexander Dominguez
Origin: Liquidambal Farm, La Paz
Altitude: Approx. 1,800m
Process: Anaerobic Washed
Variety: Typica
Produced by Alexander Dominguez, a second-generation coffee farmer with more than 15 years of experience, this lot reflects a thoughtful shift toward specialty coffee production—one that has improved both quality and livelihood.
After depulping, the coffee undergoes a 66-hour anaerobic fermentation, followed by careful washing and drying. This extended fermentation enhances sweetness and adds subtle complexity while preserving the elegant character of the Typica variety.
Tasting notes: Floral and elegant aromatics, apricot and cherry-like softness, green tea nuance, and macadamia-like sweetness with a creamy finish.

This Month at Kurasu
This month’s selection brings together two contrasting expressions in the cup.
The Kenya is bright, structured, and expressive, showing the clarity and fruit-forward character we often look for in Kenyan coffees. The Honduras is softer and more layered, with gentle fruit, sweetness, and a calm elegance that unfolds as it cools.
Together, they offer two very different but equally compelling coffee experiences—one vivid and energetic, the other quiet and evolving.
