Rwamatamu Coffee, founded by Laetitia and Gaston, is transforming communities in Rwanda while supporting their familes.
This coffee is grown in Rwanda’s Western Province, where the rich volcanic soil and unique lakefront breezes give the coffee cherries a distinctive flavor and aroma. With a commitment to quality and consistency, Rwamatamu Coffee has received high acclaim, placing 3rd in the 2024 Best of Rwanda competition and ranking in the top 10 in other international contests.
At Rwamatamu Coffee, all production is conducted on the core values of community development, integrity, and sustainability. Driven by the founders’ vision to build strong relationships with small-scale farmers, the company provides comprehensive support to ensure farmers can engage in coffee production with confidence and security.
This includes initiatives such as improving healthcare access, supplying compost to women’s cooperatives, and offering technical training to youth groups—efforts aimed at strengthening the entire community.
Felicite san, the lead farmer behind this lot, is a female coffee grower from Nyamasheke District and a member of a women’s cooperative supported by Rwamatamu Coffee. Her meticulous care in farming, along with access to high-quality seedlings and advanced agricultural techniques provided by Rwamatamu Coffee, has resulted in coffee cherries of exceptional quality.
